Terms of service
Effective October 19, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Babbar Sher LLC, the company that makes Yumi, when you use the app. They are written to be read, not skimmed past.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Yumi, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Yumi is not medical advice
Yumi is a food-decision coach. It offers supportive suggestions, portion framing, and calorie and macro estimates. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Nutrition numbers in the app are estimates and are marked as such. Always confirm anything that matters for your health (allergies, medication interactions, or a medical condition) with a qualified clinician. This is especially true if you take GLP-1 or any other medication: Yumi’s GLP-1 mode adjusts tone and portion framing only, and is not medical guidance.
Allergies, dietary restrictions, and food suggestions
You can tell Yumi about allergies, intolerances, foods you avoid, medications like GLP-1, and dietary preferences so the app can tailor its suggestions. Any suggestion, meal idea, restaurant pick, or estimate the app gives is general information only. It is NOT a promise or guarantee that any food, meal, ingredient, or restaurant order is free of any allergen or otherwise safe for you.
Some menu items also show allergen tags (for example "Contains: milk, wheat"). These tags come from each chain's own published allergen guide, where one exists, and are best-effort: they can be incomplete, out of date, or missing for an item even when the calorie and protein numbers are present. They never capture cross-contact, meaning shared fryers, shared prep surfaces, or shared equipment, which can introduce an allergen even when it is not a listed ingredient.
Restaurant menus, ingredients, recipes, and preparation change constantly and are entirely outside our control, and cross-contamination can happen anywhere. You are solely responsible for checking ingredients and confirming that any food is safe for your allergies, intolerances, medications, and medical conditions before you eat it. Never rely on Yumi, including its allergen tags, to keep you safe from an allergen or to catch something you cannot eat.
No guaranteed results
Yumi does not promise or guarantee any particular outcome: no weight change, muscle gain or loss, body-composition change, health improvement, or any other result. Nutrition and fitness outcomes depend on many factors outside the app and outside our control. Everything the app offers is general information to support your own choices, not a personalized medical, dietary, or fitness plan, and results (if any) will vary from person to person.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to your Google or Apple sign-in secure. You can stop using the app or ask us to delete your account at any time.
Acceptable use
Yumi is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, resell, or repackage the app or its content.
- Abuse the AI features, including attempts to extract keys or use the estimate service for anything other than logging your food.
- Use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms others.
AI estimates
Calorie and macro estimates, whether from the built-in food table, a barcode lookup on Open Food Facts, or the AI-powered smarter estimates, are approximations. They can be wrong. You are responsible for how you use them, and they are provided for general informational purposes only.
Purchases and subscriptions
Yumi offers a free tier and an optional Premium tier (subscription or one-time lifetime purchase). All billing runs through Apple’s App Store under its terms: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store settings, free trials convert to a paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends, and refunds are handled by Apple. Pricing and terms are always shown clearly before any charge: you will never be charged silently.
Founding lifetime pricing is limited to a set number of early purchases and may end without notice once those run out. We may change prices for new purchases; changes never affect a lifetime purchase you already made.
Our content
The app, its design, the buddy mascot, and all artwork and copy belong to Babbar Sher LLC. We grant you a personal license to use them inside the app while these terms are in effect.
Changes to the service
We are actively building Yumi, so features may change, improve, or be removed. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If we make a material change to the terms, we will update the effective date and surface the change in the app.
Warranty and liability
Yumi is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that its estimates, suggestions, or restaurant picks are accurate, complete, or safe for you.
You use Yumi and its suggestions at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yumi and its owners, makers, and operators are not liable for any injury, allergic reaction, illness, adverse health effect, or other harm, nor for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, arising from food you choose to eat, from any estimate, suggestion, meal idea, or restaurant pick, or from any reliance on the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which may be zero).
Some places do not allow certain warranty or liability exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; where that is the case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here takes away consumer protections you have under the laws of where you live.
